Rice husks revolutionize the conventional approach to activated carbon

The world and industry’s first
“rice husk carbon filter”

TIG Co., Ltd. has manufactured and put on sale a Japanese-made carbon filter for water purification which—for the first time in the world and in the industry—uses the new material M3 CARBON (activated carbon made from rice husks).
Because of their made-to-order manufacture, our products can meet your filter needs, from small to large scale.

  • Water purification systems for home and business
  • Water purification systems for showers
  • Preprocessing of RO membranes
Illust Series

  • Efficient operation through utilization of both granular M3 CARBON and fiber
  • Selective adsorption of organic impurities requiring removal
  • Low resistance results in a consistent volume of flowing water
  • Avoids leakage of activated charcoal and renders disposal of
    initial wastewater unnecessary
  • Can readily be replaced onsite without disrupting the manufacturing process

Indication of 13 substances for removal by household filters

From April 1, 2002, regulations have specified that household water purifiers should indicate the removal of a list 13 substances. For the j-SERIES, the corresponding water purification characteristics are indicated individually, based on JIS S 3201 “household water purifier test method”.

  • 01. free residual chlorine
  • 02. Turbidity
  • 03. TTHM; total trihalomethane
  • 04. 1,1,1 trichloroethane
  • 05. chloroform
  • 06. bromodichloromethane
  • 07. dibromochloromethane
  • 08. bromoform
  • 09. tetrachloroethylene
  • 10. trichloroethylene
  • 11. 2-Chloro-4,6-bis (ethylamino)-1,3,5-
    triazine (residual agricultural chemicals)
  • 12. 2-Methylisoborneol (musty odor)
  • 13. Soluble lead

Structure of fabricated layer

“j-SERIES” filters are fabricated from M3 CARBON and fibrous active carbon. They exhibit superior properties not only in terms of adsorption but also in their ability to selectively remove various types of particles. The ratio and disposition of the two types of carbon can be changed in accordance with the intended use, and dimensions can also be altered as required. In this way, we offer customization that matches usage environment and product design.
